**Comments:** This variety was listed as RPM#2 in the 1983 book The RPM Book by John A. Wexler & Tom Miller. CONECA no longer lists this as a variety. Both coins examined for this listing are later die state, and show extensive die gouges present on the obverse. I would like to see an example of this die in earlier die state to determine if the area of doubling to the northeast is a true RPM or a well placed die gouge. \\

**Die Markers:** \\
**Obverse:** 
**Stage A:** Die crack south from jacket to rim. Multiple die gouges throughout the obverse, including prominently around LIBERTY and one on Lincoln’s temple. 
**Stage B:** Same as Stage A.\\
**Reverse:** 
**Stage A:** Die polishing lines in bay 2, 10, 11. 
**Stage B:** Die polishing lines very weak. Die crack along right memorial base. Die crack right cornice tip. Die gouges under C and A in AMERICA. Die gouge right of T in CENT. Die gouge above bay 10. \\
