1975

Designation Description Image
SDDO-001 Very close Class V spread from a pivot near 3:00 on ELIZABETH. Note: This could easily be confused with machine doubling, look for split serifs.

Die Markers:
Obverse: None known.
Reverse: Many N-S die scratches through the 5. Die gouge inside the C in CENT.



5 Cents Varieties

1960

Designation Description Image
SDDR-001 Doubling to the northwest above the beaver's rear claw.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Die gouge touches the inside of the right left of the R in REGINA.
Reverse: E-W die scratch runs through the bottom of the CA in CANADA.
Designation Description Image
SDDR-002 Doubling to the north between the beaver's rear claws.

Die Markers:
Obverse: None known.
Reverse: NW-SE die scratch between the N and T in CENTS. Multiple N-S die scratches in the C in CENTS.

1963

Designation Description Image
SDDR-001 The beaver's claws are doubled far to the northwest.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Die chip on the bottom left side of the B in ELIZABETH. Die chips on the top of the T in ELIZABETH. Die gouge to the right of the top of the second E in ELIZABETH. Many scribbling die scratches through the ETH II in ELIZABETH II.
Reverse: NW-SE die scratches above the first A in CANADA. Many random die scratches below the designer's initials KG.

1968

Designation Description Image
SDDR-001 Doubling to the west of the beaver's rear claw.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Stage A: SW-NE die scratches through the ETH II in ELIZABETH II. N-S die scratches behind the neck and below the hair. Stage B: Die scratches behind the neck are no longer visible. Die scratches through ELIZABETH II still present.
Reverse: Stage A: NW-SE die scratch between the N and T in CENTS. E-W die scratches below the second A in CANADA. Stage B: Die scratch in CENTS no longer present. Die scratch under CANADA is weak but still present.

1979
