Doubled Die Reverses



Designation Description Image
CRDR-001 Partial extra leaf in the fluting to the right of the middle olive leaf overlapping the torch.

Die Markers:
Obverse: many die chips on the chin, the lower lip, the back of the lips, the cheek, the nose, the eyebrow, and the hair. Die gouge to the right of the L in LIBERTY.
Reverse: Die cracks and chips on the bottom and top of the torch and the upper olive and oak leaves.

CRDR-002 Faint but strongly rotated doubling in the fluting to the right of the middle olive leaf overlapping the torch.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Die chips on the the back of the lips, the nose, the eyebrow, and the hair above the ear.
Reverse: Die cracks and chips on the bottom and top of the torch as well as the upper oak leaves.

CRDR-003 Doubling to the south on the oak leaf overlapping the torch.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Stage A: Die gouges through the 016 in the date. Die gouge to the right of the T in LIBERTY. Stage B: Same as Stage A.
Reverse: Stage A: Die cracks on the bottom and top of the torch. Die gouge below the M in AMERICA. Die gouge to the right of the F in OF. Stage B: Stage A markers still present. More die cracks and chips formed on the torch. New die chips on the flames and the upper olive and oak leaves. New die gouge in the upper portion of the E in DIME.

CRDR-004 Doubling to the south on the oak leaf overlapping the torch.

Die Markers:
Obverse: Stage A: Many die cracks and chips on the chin, the back of the lips, the cheek, the nose, the eyebrow, and the hair. Stage B: Stage A markers still present. New strong die gouge above the T in LIBERTY.
Reverse: Stage A: Many die cracks and chips on the bottom and the top of the torch. Strong die scratch through OF. Die gouge to the left of the first S in STATES. Die gouge between the bottom of the N and I in UNITED. Stage B: Stage A markers still present. New die chips on the olive and oak branches, the L in PLURIBUS, and the first U in UNUM.
