Die Markers:
Obverse:
Type I. Small gouge from the bust directly above the J in the designer's initials. Short SW die scratch from the eyelid. SW die scratch from the left side of the ear near the ending of the hair.
Reverse:
Trumpet tail mintmark. The reverse is also a doubled die variety listed in the Wexler Doubled Die Files as 1946-S 10¢ WDDR-006. A close spread toward the center shows on ONE DIME, UNUM, AMERICA, and weak on the right side oak leaves. WNW/ENE die scratch above the RIB of PLURIBUS. Series of NE/SW die scratches through the upper right hand olive leaves.
